vision restoration: regenerative medicine in ophthalmology

Advances in cell-based therapies, tissue engineering and biomaterials offer significant promise for the regeneration of ocular tissues and impart the possibilities of vision enhancement for the 314 million worldwide who have some degree of visual impairment. Consequently, regenerative medicine is becoming increasingly important to the advances of ophthalmology.

The Fox Center for Vision Restoration, a joint program of UPMC Eye Center and the McGowan Institute for Regenerative Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh, hosts an annual international conference on the new generation of therapeutic approaches for the treatment of ophthalmic diseases.

Please check more details about our annual international conference here.

Sponsored by the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine for Continuing Education in the Health Sciences, the McGowan Institute for Regenerative Medicine and the UPMC Eye Center.
